do you make notes to remind you of something or help change your ways ?
The power of writing down your goals is simply extraordinary. Quite simply, THEY WORK. If you write down your goals on a piece of paper, then carry them around with you or stick your goals all around your house, car, and office so that you see them frequently, YOUR SUCCESS IS PRACTICALLY ASSURED. Know what you want. Know your outcome. Clarity is POWER! Your brain is constantly screening out and deleting 99.9% of everything you perceive. You would go crazy with ‘information overload’ if it didn’t! Your Reticular Activating System (RAS) will bring to your attention that 0.01% that your brain feels is important. The way you can get your RAS to work for you in an empowering way… is by setting GOALS. When you write down a goal, you are in fact sending a clear order to your brain (and your RAS) that THIS IS IMPORTANT, THIS IS WHAT I WANT, NOW GET IT FOR ME! ….. what do you write on your notes or what will you write now you know about your R.A.S ? what is often repeated to the brain often becomes reality as we all know so i put notes everywhere "dont need or want a cigarette" in my car, bedroom ,shower , kitchen , computer and other places and it works !!! my next set of notes will say be happy !!! what about yours ?
I agree, Sherlock Holmes(I know hes a fictional caricature) said that a mans brain is like an attic you can only fit so much old crap in before it bursts. Therefore like you said you have to keep the stuff you really need and dispose of any junk that is of no use. A little like our brains I only remember what I find useful, interesting or funny(or at least I try to) Writing down our goals lets us affirm to ourselves what we really want to do, once it has been written down it is our 1st small step towards our eventual goal. I also sometimes use a technique called mental rehearsal in which I imagine a scenario has gone well. When I wanted to pass my driving test I imagined myself driving a car(planting my intended final result into my subconscious) with the idea being that my conscious mind would bring it out, this worked I passed 1st time with two minor faults!

I write what I have in mind everyday especially those things that I don't want to repeat and read it when I have time.

How empowering! What I think needs to be addressed, too, though, is how some people (including me) just don't take as much time to make themselves feel better as they need to. Helping ourselves has to start with US. Rest assured that the words you wrote are GREAT and may bring comfort and encouragement to many people. Thank you!

Writing notes is a good method. Remind me at times but sometimes I can be stray away from my notes objective whatever with myself because it's me. All laws and acts are fair and square but hardly anyone can 100% abide it faithfully.
I am smarter, I let my rich, powerful enemies and their doggies to check mate me 247 at all times, free of charge and effective for what I wanna to desire and achieve. Smart dumb? No, no no, hehe, Life is harder than my destiny, Yes, very, but my objective is achieved. haha…
Sir Isaac Newton said these statement about Law of motion, every force comes with an equal opposite force and every opposite force comes with an resultant force. And that's what I am talking about. hehe..think about it.
E.g. They are rich, I remain as poor. lol. If they become good, I will become bad. lol.. Anyway, I don't think so about I will be rich and I will be bad in my life. hahah…Living good prevails otherwise I have already them deported but I didn't. My enemies win so do I too? hahaha….

Thats great to hear. At one point i was putting little signs up that said "control" near my tv, computer, fridge… those are all things that i could use a little control over. Not sure if it worked, but i did get through college with decent grades. This is something i will try again, this time with specific goals.

I do tend to write and send messgaes to myself
keep a claender and a journal and aslo read inspiring books daily
You are so right and articulate about the brain and how it reatins information
Its a good way to affirm knowledge and learn new ways to grow and think
thinking affects emotions and thereby your behaviour
knowledge is power
in time we become wise and all because we are blessed with the power to address the balance and filter out the useful from the not useful concepts
well done you :O)

I think you need help!
You can tell your brain a million times that you want to win the lottery but you have no more chance of doing it than any one of the other 14 million people doing it.
I agree positive reinforcement is good for you, but we are governed by time and chance in the majority of aspects of our lives.
But words on a piece of paper are just that, words.

I always do this! It works. When I was 28 years old, I wrote down my goals and where I wanted to be by the time I was 30. It all came true at this age. I wrote another one for when I am 35 years old. I can't wait to see these things happen. I am on my way!

yes I do make notes, writing them down helps me to visualise what I want to accomplish, very helpful in making short term goals, and eventually long term goals, right now I've a list of goals written down and place on my refrigerator's door, and every time I'm in the kitchen ,I get to reaffirmed my defination of what I need to acheived.
